While our Rotary Club of Rawalpindi Rohtas arranged a medical camp with help of Shifa International Hospital in flood hit Pir Sabaq village near Nauwshehra on Saturday September 4, a villager brought his unconscious son to us and asked for a help. During the check up, doctor found that boy had high fever for last 10 days and dehydrated to a level that he was not having normal breathing. Boy, named Suhail, aged 10 years, required immediate treatment and hospitalization and doctor asked if we can shift him to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad to save his life.
Looking into condition of the boy, we immediately arranged a car and other logistics for the boy and his father to shift them to Shifa Hospital in Islamabad. The head of doctors team with us at the camp called his hospital in Islamabad to arrange immediate treatment on arrival for the boy. The boy was admitted and treated at Shifa and Alhamdolillah recovered to normal during 5 days of stay in the hospital.
Last week we met the boy during our visit to Pir Sabaq village. He is Mash Allah doing fine and we were told that he has started going to school now. His parents were very happy to see us and were thankful to us for the effort done to bring the happiness back to their family and a new life for Suhail.
Alhamdullilah our timely action saved a life.
