Rotary Club of Lahore participated in several awareness activities on the recent Polio NIDs.
On December 28, our club joined the Polio awareness campaign carried out by Rtn. Faheem Asghar, Secretary of Rotary Club of Lahore Sharqi at Minar-e-Pakistan in which we gathered, wearing Polio awareness jackets, alongwith banner to see him off as he was traveling on bicycle to Gujranwala for polio awareness. City 42 was there for the media coverage. People from the surrounding gathered there along with staff of city district government.
We provided polio drops at our dispensary at Rotary Medical & Community Centre and a banner was displayed outside our centre. The drops will also be available on normal days other than NIDs.
For long term polio awareness, we have made polio awareness banners which have been placed on 4 Suzuki pickups & 3 Shahzore pickups, which not only travel to every corner of Lahore but also travel to various small cities. We also placed similar banners on 8 rickshaws. The idea is to create the awareness not only on NIDs but on long term basis. Drivers of Suzuki pickups have volunteered to provide the space without any charges, whereas, we will be paying rickshaw drivers a nominal amount monthly.

Through photo sessions we can publish our photos in GML and Rotarian magazines but can not eradicate polio in Pakistan.136 Polio cases have been reported so far in Pakistan.We must eradicate corruption in Polio eradication Program in Pakistan.
